TWO REVIEWS: Load NYC and NYJOCK/GBU's "Boxers & Briefs"

The good, the bad, and the ugly, well, in this case the bad/ugly and the hot. Here are two reviews of the parties LOAD NYC and NYJOCK/GBU. NYJOCK has increasingly become the #1 party in Manhattan for hot guys AND hot sex. The host is great at keeping the list hot and the parties sex-filled romps. Here's the word...

"Hey Mickey, I went to the LOAD UNDERWEAR PARTY on Saturday (Jan 14) and wanted to give you a report. This party has the feel of a money-making operation. It's held in the basement of a video porn store. You buy your ticket from the (I'm assuming straight) guys who run the video store as they listen to music from some middle eastern country. You can't go down the stairs to even look until you've purchased the ticket, so once you get down into the basement it's too late to change your mind. This party is not at all selective. If you have $20 and can descend stairs, they let you in. The floors are tiled so everyone is wearing their shoes. There is a video on the wall with cheap bareback porn playing, a cooler with beer and water, tattered black sheets hang from the ceiling (I assume to block the light from the video from reaching the rest of the room) and little booths in the back where guys are waiting for someone to hook-up with. The condoms and lube are only in one corner and you have to walk in front of the video to get them. As far as I could tell, the guys who were hooking up in the booths weren't using condoms. There is very little sex going on outside the booths. Guys are just milling about. There is no place to have sex sitting or lying down. The room is too dark, except when a fully dressed guy walks through the space about every ten minutes and opens the supply closet to get something - illuminating the space and revealing everything you really didn't want to see. For an underwear party there were a surprising number of fully dressed guys. And "underwear" at this party has been expanded to include long johns and t-shirts. The party started at 12 midnight and I got there around 2 AM. I only stayed for about 15 minutes, so maybe it picked up later on, but I couldn't wait to get out of there and will not be going back.

I was so bummed by my experience at the LOAD party the night before, so...

I decided to try the NYJP and GBU joint party on Sunday night (Jan 15) being held midtown east. Id never attended either of their parties and wasn't sure what to expect. I wondered if they'd make me undress to check me out before letting me in or ask to see my driver's license to make sure I was within the proper age range. But they let me right in without any hassle. I had such a great time. I arrived a couple hours into this party and stayed till it finished at 3 AM. There were a great variety of hot guys at this party. Some young muscle dudes, twinks, older muscle dudes, hairy, smooth, gym bodied, yoga bodied,out all in decent shape. True there are some of the young muscle hunks who kind of stand around waiting for guys who are their mirror equals, but you figure out who these guys are pretty quickly and move on to the sexy guys who are actually enjoy the variety of hot bodied men in attendance. The guys working at the party (opening the door, checking bags, pouring drinks, etc.) were all very nice and there was plenty of condoms of lube that were easily accessible. My only criticism is that it was too dark and they didn't layout the space very well. The apartment had a spiral staircase that went up to a loft and everyone was crammed in the smaller loft space where there was a kind sized bed in the center of the room. They had curtains covering the area where you could have looked down into the apartment's main room. As a result the large room wasn't being used. It would have been hot if they had put a curtain between the kitchen and the main room and had the bed downstairs and then removed the upstairs curtains so you could watch the action from above. But I still had a fantastic time and had fun with several hot guys. A side note -there is no shower access and no hot water coming from the sinks. And for the last 30 minutes someone un plugged the lights upstairs so it was really dark and I think there was some BB going on. That was my cue to leave. But I'll definitely come back to this party again.
