A GUIDE TO DOOR POLICIES
Here
is a listing of what the different “DOOR POLICY” terms mean. These
should not be taken as an indication of how “good” a party is. I have
been to some Very Selective parties where I have been bored because
there were mostly men standing around acting like they were all too good
for each other, and I’ve also been to Open Door parties that have been
full-out fuckfests filled with lots of hot group action. These
categories are simply intended to be a guide as to whether the party is
one you would physically fit in to and an indication as to what kinds of
body types you will likely find there.
Here are the Door Policy Categories:
Selective –
Only men with above-average to average bodies are allowed. “Average”
refers to men who are height-weight-proportionate and do not have much
visible muscle tone or muscle mass. But you will also usually find quite
a few men in great shape at these parties as well.
Somewhat Selective –
A wide range of body types. You may find some above-average athletic
men and also some out-of-shape men with extra pounds on them, but not
overly obese. Most guys at these parties tend to have average bodies.
Not Selective –
All body types are allowed. You still need to be on an invite list in
order to attend, and with some Not Selective parties you may need to
meet some other entrance criteria such as age or race.
Open Door – General admission. Everyone is welcome and you don’t need to be on an invite list in order to attend. Just show up.

BEEF (Washington Heights) If you're into bears and playing safe then this would be the party for you. The atmosphere is sexy and social and the crowd is a nice mix of different races and ages (even if the crowd does tend to skew a bit younger than other bear parties I've been to).
