"Hello, I just wanted to give you my thoughts on Banya Monday (the Pool Boy NYC event) held in Astoria. So I noticed one of your readers had responded last year, and what happened today was completely different. I think the staff (some of them are quite hot), pretty much know what goes on - I think they're gay. So this is pretty much like a really hot pool party of just gay men, so people are quite open - socializing, flirting, teasing in the open and in the pool. The action happens in the steam rooms, the dark room, and the sauna. It's an extremely relaxing (and very clean) atmosphere, they have a bar you can order drinks from.
There are all sorts of guys, mostly White and Latino men - some Black men, and one or two Asian guys. The good thing about the guys who go is that they don't give much attitude. So, there's a little bit of everyone for someone. A lot of different body types, from average, to below-average, to muscular and toned. There are some really hot guys who go. It tends to draw a fair number of younger guys, since it's only 20 dollars if you're under 24. But there are guys in their mid-40s (silver foxes) who go. There are some people who don't get the message, but for the most part everyone is respectful. Since this is not a sex party, there's no requirement to do anything - you could spend the entire time just lounging in the hot tub if you wanted to.
The lighting is great in the open area; some people stick to the dark nap room if they're shy. They play Top 40s music, and everyone just has a great time. They do tend to run out of lockers after 7 pm, in which case you will have to put things into a bag, instead of a locker. Some people do bring rubbers, but I think most of the action is making out, j/o, and oral - I did see that some people who brought rubbers did not clean up after themselves, but it was only one or two that I saw.

By the late evenings, you get several hot groups going in the dark room.
