Highlight of the week: Private Party on Wednesday

Hello my fellow group-sex aficionados. As long-time readers of the blog know, NYC offers many sex party options but there are a handful that are generally considered among the best the city has to offer and one of those is a monthly party that is happening this Wednesday, Private Party. What makes Private Party stand apart from many of the others? Let me count the ways...

1) Its one of the few safe-sex parties where guys really take the safe-sex part seriously. It is rare to see any bb-ing there and anyone who might be foolhardy enough to try it will likely not last the night. 

2) It's a big party of usually around 80  to 100 guys so there are always plenty of men to chose from and to play with. 

3) Its social with a friendly atmosphere, in fact it's so friendly that...

4) it's mostly a no-attitude-party. And that's somewhat surprising considering that... 

5) it's quite selective with an extensive application process (a phone interview followed by a in-person in-the-nude interview) so only attractive, in-shape men with friendly attitudes are allowed in. 

6)  The lighting is quite good so you can actually see all the hot guys you are fucking around with, and speaking of fucking around...

7) guys actually have sex at this party. Lots of it. It's not a stand-and-pose affair like some others, and you often will see groups of guys getting tangled up in the most interesting and exciting variety of positions. (Given that there are only couches, chairs and a table to play around on, some creativity can be helpful.)

8) You can take a shower! That's something I haven't found at many sex parties and since I consider hygiene a rather fundamentally important part of attending sex parties, I find it to be a big plus.

So are those enough reasons for you to attend? If not, you are just too hard to please...when you should just be hard. (Smiley winking face implied here). 

Please know that the crowd is mostly made up of twenty-something twinks and some muscle guys and the host is very much about attracting and maintaining a clean-cut, "professional" looking crowd so if you are into the rougher, scuffy-er uber-masculine types of guys, you won't find much of that here. But if you are into more of the All-American boy or fit business man look, this may well be your nirvana. 

Also be aware that the in -person interview that will be scheduled with you immediately preceding your first party is done with you completely in the nude (in front of, in my case anyway, a group of three nude interviewers) and the last few parties themselves have also had a completely nude theme, so this party is for guys who are already comfortable in their own skin and may not be for the more modest or shy among you. Then again, I'm not sure why anyone modest or shy would be diving into group-sex but consider yourself forewarned nonetheless. 

As for the more adventurous of you, send the host an email so you can get your interview in before the party. If you wait till the day of, you likely will not get in, so shoot him an email today and have fun!

HOTTEST Party next week is NEW YORK BY NIGHT...the party is filled with HOT guys, little attitude, no pressure, very clean, safe social, and always fun. And BEST no guys just standing around -- it's full of HOT HOT SEX.

One of the best things about living in Manhattan is that you can get whatever you want any time you want it. Sex parties are no exception to the rule. Many people know that they exist, but don’t know where to find them or are too nervous to actually try one out. So we’re taking the mystery out of some of the city’s hottest parties. This party is like a night at a bar in Chelsea on fast-forward. Muscular, attractive guys abound (all in their underwear or less, thanks to the mandatory clothes check) but there’s also a lot of attitude. Held in what seems to be a two-floor residence with hanging curtains to separate the space and beds, benches and couches for the action, the whole event is very organized. There are usually more guys standing around watching or waiting for something better to come along than actually getting it on, but if you want a night full of the city’s hottest guys ripe for the picking, this is the place to go.

like a scene from John Cameron Mitchell’s film Shortbus, Happy Landing is a Brooklyn queer art/music/sex party. Held in a secret warehouse basement, the party’s patrons are greeted with a bright neon wonderland (the walls are literally covered in neon-painted junk) where DJs spin, liquor flows and boys and girls (yes, vagina) roam around in various states of undress. While the winding backroom maze features a mattress and a sling, the atmosphere is more hipster social than dirty dungeon. Plus, the sliding scale admission ($0–$20) and the pay-what-you-can bar means those without funds aren’t turned away.

Held in a straight S&M club, the party scene includes cages, restraints, bondage crosses, stocks and all sorts of devices to aid in tying people up and getting them off. Most guys remain fully or partially clothed and the fun of the party is watching various bondage scenes unfold. Of course, you could be asked (or rather, ordered) to participate, but if you weren’t looking to be on the receiving end of a rope burn, you wouldn’t be in attendance now, would you…

Held in a discreet but easy-to-find Chelsea play space, the Grab Ass party is as close as you’ll get to an old-fashioned sex club, but with a new twist: it operates on a “harm reduction” platform, offering confidential, rapid-results HIV testing on the premises so that participants can know their status before the fun starts (or even during). Not surprisingly, safe sex is encouraged and condoms and lube are readily available in the several rooms and dark hallways of the club. The men tend to be on the older side, but there is good racial diversity and a number of sexy younger gentlemen of color.

• West Side ClubWhere: Chelsea/Union SquareWhen: 24/7How to get invited: Just show up, or visit WestSideClubNYC.comNumber of Guys: Varies
The West Side Club, and its sister site, the East Side Club, are the closest things that New York still has to a traditional bathhouse. Visitors pay for a membership (either temporary or otherwise) and either a locker or a more spacious “changing room.” Towels are provided so you can cruise the clean and well-kept two floors on your way to the showers—or somewhere else. What the crowd is like depends on the time of day and day of the week, but a recent Friday night saw about 50 guys hanging out, many of whom were quite attractive and frisky. There is often on-site HIV testing administered by professionals, but the club’s staff could stand to be a bit friendlier.
